He is amongst my hall of fame directors. I guess, no one can forget his masterpieces like Anand, Khubsoorat,Bawarchi,Chupke Chupke,Golmaal...
Middle class was his forte. His stories were happy-go-lucky and focused on the mischiefs happening in the common man's life. He had a great knak of showing complex human emotions in a simple yet appealing way.
That's what made him so popular. By any means, he was not a biggest showmaker or something like that.
We will always remember his creations.....
